Question by M L: does anybody shed weight on lexapro?
I was on celexa for a handful of months and it seemed to function ok. The significant benefit was i didn’t really feel like a “bottomless pit” all the time so I lost ten lbs. The dilemma is when I came OFF I gained 15 pounds in a matter of weeks even though my eating did not adjust. I also was extremely angry and “out of control” when I came off. I know I need to have to be on some thing. My PCP said I wasn’t on lengthy sufficient and to attempt celexa once more given that it did perform whilst I was on it. I saw an advanced RN who prescribed lexapro. I have noticed numerous talk about weight acquire, but no 1 says if they had been thin prior to or had poor appetite etc just before. If I lost weight on celexa bc it lessened my require to eat is it likely to happen on lex too or will i gain weight? can men and women be a lot more certain about their life style B4 they began lexapro/celexa and then how the medicine affected their weight? also, must i give the celexa an additional attempt?
i am taking it for depression, but have weight troubles so definitely don’t want to gain. i am thinking perhaps i should go back to celexa given that at least i know i did not gain on that.

That is incredibly uncommon… I know 1 person who was on it.. who gained 15lbs… Gaining weight is a reoccuring factor when dealing with lexapro.

Are you taking these anti-depressants because of weight? I have been on several for years, but in combination with lithium and other anti-depressants, so keep this in mind. About 5 months ago, was taking Lexapro, I gained weight (about 15 pounds). Currently, I am on lamectal and have lost about 8 pounds. I guess I didn’t worry about weight, I just wanted to be stable. I think there’s lifestyles that have to be considered. When I was forced to go to a gym, I lost weight. Then was brain surgery. I never liked to eat sugar stuff, and now I crave it. Is the Lexapro? Too many things involved when it comes to taking medications. One pill does not suit all.

    DON’T USE PILLS

The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did….lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won’t help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don’t eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i’m going pretty well if i don’t say myself. 90 LBS isn’t anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice. If you want anymore details, feel free to email me. Just please be patient for ppl seem to email me for advice on this, I will reply, don’t worry! ~Adia
